Logging your raid

  1. 1
Start logging before the first pullType this in chat. Deadly Boss Mods and BigWigs can also switch it on automatically when you enter a raid./combatlog
  2. 2
Clear the old log firstThe 3.3.5 client keeps appending to the same file, so rename or delete last week's log before raid night to keep uploads small.
  3. 3
Find the file after the raidIt lives in your game folder:World of Warcraft\Logs\WoWCombatLog.txt
  4. 4
Drop it on the Upload pageParsing runs in your browser. Publish when you're happy with the fights it found: the report goes public, and the raw log is re-parsed on our servers for Tops and the Ladder.

FAQ

Is my log uploaded when I drop it in?

Not until you press Publish. Then the compact report and the compressed raw log are uploaded: the report so others can open it, the raw log so we can re-parse it for rankings.

Why is my useful damage lower than my damage?

Useful damage leaves out damage that didn't help kill the boss: overkill, and damage to targets that don't count on that fight. The Damage tab's "Damage by target" table shows the rule for every target.

Why doesn't my parse show on Tops yet?

Rankings only use our server's own parse of the raw log, done while you publish, so a published kill shows up right away. If it doesn't, the same kill may have been uploaded by someone else first: the report page says so.

Can I delete a report?

No, so a raid's history stays complete (and nobody can hide their weaker nights). You can rename reports you published from the same browser. If one was published by mistake, ask for help below.

Two people uploaded the same raid. Does it count twice?

No. A kill seen in several reports is matched by its boss, time, length and roster and counted once: the first upload is the one that ranks.

Which servers are supported?

Warmane's WotLK realms: Icecrown, Lordaeron, Onyxia and Frostmourne. Other 3.3.5 servers may parse fine, but rankings are Warmane-only for now.

A pet's damage is missing from a player.

If the pet was summoned before logging started, the log never says who owns it. We infer owners where we can; report the fight if it's wrong.
